School Disciplines Students for Handing Out Candy Canes

The latest weapon to banned at one Virginia high school is particularly onerous: Candy canes. Those curved pepperminty sugar sticks were passed out before school by the “Christmas Sweater Club” at Battlefield High School this holiday season in an effort to spread Christmas cheer.

Silly kids. Don’t they know the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear? Maybe they’ve never seen Elf. Or maybe singing Christmas carols was banned at their school.

Regardless of the best method for injecting the Christmas spirit into a group of moody teenagers, the “Christmas Sweater Club” was reprimanded by school officials and given detention in the form of two hours of cleaning. I guess with all the budget cuts to education, the school had to let its janitorial staff go.

Swedish Suicide Bomber Martyrs Self to Promote Peace

Thank God for incompetent terrorists. A jihadist suicide bomber succeeded only in injuring two people and killing himself last Saturday in Stockholm when he detonated two bombs.

Taimur Abdulwahab al-Abdaly has been credited and heralded as the perpetrator of the attack on a busy shopping street in Sweden’s capital city by the terror group al Qaeda. On a Yemeni website, Abdulwahab was praised for his actions: “It is our brother, mujahid Taymour Abdel Wahab, who carried out the martyrdom operation in Stockholm.”

A Mujahid is a Muslim engaged in radical Islam.

Abdulwahab was born in Iraq, but was a Swedish citizen living in the England town of Luton. Luton has seen its share of contention in recent years, most recently being the site of a protest by Islamists picketing returning British soldiers from Iraq. The extremists held up signs accusing the men of being “butchers” and “baby-killers.”

Moments before his death, Abdulwahab sent an email containing an audio file to the police and to a Swedish news agency. Apparently, he was ticked off by Sweden’s military presence in Afghanistan, as well as the country’s silence over an image by a Swedish artist that depicted the Prophet Muhammad as a dog.

Amazon Cuts Ties with WikiLeaks. Also, Defund NPR!

Remember that hullabaloo surrounding Juan Williams when he was fired from NPR for saying he got nervous when flying with Islamic-looking males? His exact quote to Fox News’ Bill O’Reily was:

“I mean, look, Bill, I’m not a bigot. You know the kind of books I’ve written about the civil rights movement in this country. But when I get on the plane, I got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous.”

NPR’s Big Boss Lady Vivian Schiller defended the decision to terminate Mr. Williams’s employment with that organization because according to her, “he had several times in the past violated our news code of ethics with things that he had said on other people’s air.”

Well then cool people like S.E. Cupp and Sarah Palin started asking why such an obviously left-wing outfit should receive federal funding (our tax dollars at work!) and calling for NPR to be defunded.

Vivian Schiller called the claim that NPR depends on public funding ‘laughable.’ It’s the parent company (the Corporation for Public Broadcasting) that receives the public funding, while NPR is funded (in part) by station fees. And where do the stations get their funding? From the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Laughable indeed.

Besides, if NPR really didn’t needs public funding, as Ms. Schiller claims, why are they so insistent that the supposed non-existent funding not be cut?

In November, the House GOP moved to defund NPR. It was defeated, and supporters of the bill were mocked as petty and juvenile. NPR released a statement saying:

“In an increasingly fractious media environment, public radio’s value in fostering an informed society has never been more critical. Our growing audience shows that we are meeting that need. It is imperative for federal funding to continue to ensure that this essential tool of democracy remains available to all Americans and thrives well into the future.”

Basically, NPR is claiming to be an unbiased, reliable source of information for all Americans.

On a completely unrelated note, I saw a lot of people mentioning WikiLeaks on Twitter this morning, in relation to Amazon. I wondered to myself: what does WikiLeaks have to do with Amazon? And I skipped on over to Google to figure it out. Here’s what NPR had to say about the situation:

The WikiLeaks website has left its U.S. Web host, Amazon.com, and moved back to a Swedish provider.

Amazon.com would not comment on its relationship with WikiLeaks or whether it forced the site to leave. Messages seeking comment from WikiLeaks were not returned.

Here’s what actually happened, according to oh, um, actual facts: Amazon cut ties with WikiLeaks and slimey Julian Assange after the website leaked over a quarter of a million classified state documents, causing a global scandal, embarrassment for many world leaders, and potential danger for countless innocents around the world.

Amazon told Congressman Joe Leiberman (chairman of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee) about the decision to break with WikiLeaks.

“This morning Amazon informed my staff that it has ceased to host the WikiLeaks website,” Liberman said in a public statement. ”The company’s decision to cut off WikiLeaks now is the right decision and should set the standard for other companies WikiLeaks is using to distribute its illegally seized material.”

Even WikiLeaks itself whined about being ousted on Twitter.

Amazon absolutely made a good decision in booting the wretched WikiLeaks from its servers. Bravo, Amazon!

Shame on NPR for not even trying to get its facts straight. Unbiased my left foot. Bottom line: If NPR is going to promote left-wing propaganda, they can do it on their own dime.

WikiLeaks Scandal: Free Speech or Terrorism?

Over the weekend, the website WikiLeaks released over 250,000classified State Department documents. Top-secret information about everything from Iran’s nuclear status to concerns over China’s growthas a superpower to the potentiality of a united Korean peninsulasuddenly became public knowledge.

Secretary of State Clinton is mad. President Obama is cracking down with a zero-tolerance policy for anyone caught leaking information. Congressman Pete King (R-NY) is calling for the government to declare WikiLeaks a foreign terrorist organization, in order to “seize their funds and go after anyone who provides them help or contributions or assistance whatsoever.”

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange claims that total transparency is in the public’s best interest.

Naked Scanners or Body Groping: Has the TSA Gone Too Far?

Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano reassured us almost a year ago that “the system worked.” Her words were in response to the panty bomberUmar Farouk Abdulmutallab, who tried to detonate a bomb in his drawers on an international flight headed into Detroit, Michigan.

If the system was working so well, why have some intense new screening procedures been introduced by the FTA recently?

Naked body scanners have been popping up in airports all over the country. These machines can literally see through your clothes to your naked body to determine whether or not you’re wearing a diaper full of C4. By the way, scientists aren’t sure of the medical side effects that may occur to those lucky enough to be singled out for a scan on their way to Toledo.

In addition to the scanners, TSA agents have implemented anenhanced pat-down procedure, which has left many people feeling sexually violated when their “special places” were given some extra attention. Some people have chosen to leave the airport, rather than have their junk groped by a complete stranger.

Even 3-year-olds have been subjected to physical pat-downs.

Is this really necessary? Do a mom’s labia and breasts need to be fondled to be sure that she’s not a terrorist? Does my toddler really need to take off her Robeez to go through airport security?

When was the last time a mom traveling with an infant attempted to blow up a plane in a terrorist attack? I couldn’t find any incidences in the United States.

Meanwhile, while average American citizens are being forced to choose between being seen naked or be groped by the TSA, CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) has recommended that Muslim women traveling in a hijab forgo the scanners, and only be searched around their neck and head. This is in accordance with their religion, and Janet Napolitano is considering the request.

National security is important. I get that. But no one has the right to ogle or touch my body without due cause. Until a bunch of green-eyed, blonde, twenty-something females start using commercial airliners for terrorist attacks, or I personally act in a suspicious manner, please leave my private parts alone.

Otherwise I might have to sue the TSA for “reverse discrimination.”

10 Biggest Truths About Conservatives

Conservatives, especially conservative women, can take quite a beating. Just ask Sarah Palin, Nikki Haley, Christine O’Donnell, Michele Bachmann, or Michelle Malkin, just to name a few that deal with constant attacks on everything from their politics to their parenting to their femininity.

Mashed up bag of meat with lipstick, anyone?

Sure we conservatives like guns and babies and the founders, but liberals have taken some of the core principles of conservatism and twisted them into something untruthful.

Allow me to clarify, and explain the reality behind some of thoseConservative Truths you think are so awful.

1. Conservatives Love Religion

Freedom of religion, that is. Crosses, menorahs, the Ten Commandments, and even those “COEXIST” bumper stickers don’t offend us. What is offensive is the left’s attempt to push around anyone that chooses to participate in religious rituals or traditions. They’re not “holiday” trees, people, and nobody is forcing you to decorate one, let alone celebrate the birth of Christ.

2. Conservatives Don’t Believe in Welfare

The problem with welfare is that it’s a system comprised of involuntary redistribution of wealth and rampant fraud. As earners are taxed more and more heavily, their ability to give to charity, expand their businesses, or even just purchase cool stuff (creating manufacturing and retail jobs) shrinks. Which means more people on welfare, to be supported by fewer earners. To paraphrase Margaret Thatcher, the problem with welfare is that eventually you run out of other people’s money.

3. Conservatives Think Men and Women Should Be Treated Differently

Equality does not mean sameness. Whether it was God or evolution that created us, conservatives understand that men and women are inherently different, and that we complement each other. At the same time, our gender doesn’t hold us back. Women have already achieved workplace equality, and we don’t need to open our own doors to prove our self-worth.

4. Conservatives Don’t Care Who’s Gay

Or more specifically, conservatives don’t care whether someone is gay or straight. We’re all about freedom of choice and expression on the right side of the aisle, and we truly believe all men were created equal. Sexual orientation doesn’t make one person better or worse than another, it just makes them different. Remember, equality does not equal sameness.

5. Conservatives View War as Necessary

The left labels Conservatives as warmongers, but this simply isn’t true. I don’t think anyone actually likes war and violence (aside from sickos like Chelsea King‘s murderer John Gardner), yet conservatives recognize the need for it at times. There are some seriously bad people out there that would destroy us without thinking twice if they had no fear of retaliation. War is a necessary evil in the fight for peace. I seriously doubt Osama bin Laden would’ve called off the 9/11 attacks if only President Bush had sat down for a chat with milk and cookies with him.

6. Conservatives Hate Abortion

Anti-abortion and anti-woman are not synonymous. Conservatives empower women to make their own choices, especially about their bodies, and then empower those same women to overcome any negative outcomes that those choices might result in. Women have a right to choose whether or not to have sex, and children (even unborn ones) have the right to live. Isn’t every baby a blessing — especially to adoptive parents?

7. Conservatives Like Money

Why not? Money makes the world go round, after all. Conservatives are capitalists, which means that we understand that it’s in man’s basic nature to want bigger and better things. To some people that’s a life of luxury, and to others it’s a life of philanthropy, but both take money. Getting back down to that conservative value of free choice, we believe that it’s up to the individual to decide how to spend their money, even if we don’t agree with it.

8. Conservatives Don’t Believe the Government Is There to Ensure Health and Prosperity

The preamble and article 1 of the Constitution refer to the “general welfare” of the people, and the government’s role in promoting it. When did this become a directive for the government to provide all sorts of welfare programs? The founders came from oppressive governments, and did not believe in a system that gave special treatment to privileged groups or individuals in society. The government is there to protect our rights to life, liberty, and property, not to provide a lifestyle.

9. Conservatives Believe Liberals Just Don’t Get It

Winston Churchill said, “If you are young and not a liberal you have no heart, and when you’re old if you are not conservative you have no brain.” Liberals truly want to help people, and their tender, bleeding hearts believe that government is the one to provide that help. As they grow and mature and gain wisdom through the years, they begin to understand that welfare and big government and peace talks with terrorists just don’t work.

10. Conservatives Have Legal Sex

I guess we don’t need to throw anything illegal (Drugs? Hookers?) into the mix to have crazy sex. We’re hot enough as is, in both looks and personality.

Judge Susan Bolton Says, “Not So Fast” to Arizona

I think it’s annoying that most people in the news continue to refer toArizona’s SB1070 as the “controversial” anti-immigration bill. First off, how can it be controversial when it’s supported by 70 percent of the population? Second, it’s not anti-immigration at all. It’s anti-illegal immigration.

I’ve never been a big fan of the Arizona law, but it’s not because I think it’s discriminatory toward Mexicans. I don’t like it because I don’t think there should be a reason for it. Deportation of illegal immigrants should be the federal government’s domain.

Unfortunately, the process of becoming a legal citizen of the United States has become so arduous that many hard-working people bypass the impossible system while the feds look the other way.

While the feds are looking the other way, some really bad guys come in too. Drug mules, slave drivers, kidnappers … shall I continue? Phoenix has the second highest kidnapping rate in the world. OnlyMexico City witnesses more kidnappings than the Arizona capital.

Most of the kidnappings and other violent crimes are attributed to Mexican drug cartels.

Keeping Our Skies Safe: Body Scans for Twelve-Year-Olds!

I must have missed the headline. Could someone please tell me the last time a 12-year-old girl detonated a bomb on an airplane in a suicidal terrorism mission in the name of Allah?

Obviously I missed a story somewhere, because apparently, pre-teens now pose a very real security threat to America.

From the St. Petersburg Times:

A Baltimore family is raising the issue [of body scanners] after their 12-year-old daughter was pulled out of line in Tampa and subjected to what they say was an embarrassing and unhealthy scan. The girl was traveling with an adult friend of the family, not her parents.

“Our daughter was scared and didn’t understand what was happening,” said Michelle Nemphos, the mother of the girl. She declined to give her daughter’s name. “In essence they conducted a strip search on a 12-year-old girl without her parents present to advocate for her.”

Or maybe, just maybe, 12-year-olds traveling from one U.S. city to another U.S. city with a friend’s family don’t pose security risks to our friendly skies.

Lockerbie Bomber Now Has a Decade to Live

Remember that one time when there was a terrorist that helped blow up a plane over a little Scottish town called Lockerbie? Let me refresh your memory. In December of 1988, some really bad guys detonated a bomb on Pan Am flight 103, killing everyone on board and even some Lockerbians that got in the way of falling airplane parts. In all, 270 people died.

The Lockerbie plane bombing was the greatest terrorist assault on American civilians (179 of the deceased were Americans) until the towers came down on 9/11. There were babies and children on that plane. College students headed home for Christmas. Families. All doomed before they could even put their oxygen masks on.

Abdelbaset al-Megrahi was convicted of involvement with the bombing, and was sentenced to life in a Scottish prison. Last August, he was released to his home country of Libya after a doctor confirmed that al-Megrahi had terminal cancer and only months to live.

He was given a hero’s welcome home in Libya. Throngs of people cheered for him as his plane landed and he stepped out a free man in his home country.

Janet Napolitano: Combating Terrorism via the Internet

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano wants to read your email. Apparently the “right to privacy” only exists between a woman and her abortion provider. Although it’s probably unfair to say that Ms. Napolitano personally wants to read your email.

It’s much more likely that she wants to set up a few new governmentagencies, hire thousands of people on the taxpayers’ dime (don’t forget about those bloated government pensions!), and have themread your email. So it might be a moot point anyway, since we all know how effective government agencies are — been to the DMV lately?

Why does Ms. Napolitano want to read your email? To fightterrorism, of course! How silly to even ask. It turns out that terrorists like to communicate with one another via Internet communications. The panty-bomber, the Fort Hood shooter, and Jihad Jane are all big fans of Internet communications.
